The following openings are available: 

Upper Elementary Lead Teacher (Grades 4-6)
ECMCS is seeking a full-time Montessori Upper Elementary (grades 4-6), Lead Teacher. Responsibilities include planning, leading, and implementing the Montessori curriculum with the assistance of a teacher assistant, supporting parents and students, participating in the culture of the school community, and networking and collaborating during Montessori Professional Development opportunities in the area. Candidates without a Montessori Certification will still be considered if they demonstrate a strong knowledge of state curriculum and child development. Montessori training will be provided for the right candidate. 

Teaching Assistant 
ECMCS is seeking a full-time assistant teacher. The ideal candidate is a great communicator with both children and adults, organized, and willing to go the extra mile for the efforts of the school's mission. College degree required and experience teaching children preferred. Hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30-4: 00 pm. ‚Äč 
Duties: * Supports instructional efforts * Prepares and develops Montessori curriculum * Reinforces concepts by helping students, individually and in groups, with lesson assignments. * Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards. * Updates job knowledge by participating in Montessori educational opportunities and reading professional publications. * Enhances the school's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Art Teacher

We are seeking a full-time Art instructor for our innovative and progressive elementary and middle school program. Our related arts department leaders work as a team to showcase the arts.  Related arts teachers bring with them an in-depth knowledge of their craft as well as an excitement for helping students reach their potential. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator with both children and adults, organized and ready to engage in a professional, collegial environment.

Duties: 
--Lesson planning, instruction, and assessment of students in the discipline of Art. --Plans exciting and engaging instructional experiences that support the national standards and Montessori curriculum.   --Seeks to incorporate the Montessori philosophy in planning, along with the integration of Montessori classroom extensions. --Presents and reinforces concepts by helping students, individually and in groups, with lesson assignments.   --Updates job knowledge by participating in Montessori educational opportunities and reading professional publications. --Enhances the school's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements: Candidate must have experience working with students in a group setting. Candidate must have teacher certification in art or degree in an art-related field.


Music Teacher 

East Cooper Montessori Charter School (ECMCS) is now hiring a full-time Music Educator for the 2019-2020 school year and beyond. ECMCS is launching a music and theater program partnering with Storytree Theater to bring performance through music and theater to life. The ideal candidate will have great knowledge of music standards, a love of performance-based music instruction and enjoy collaboration in teaching. The school has an instrumentarium that includes xylophones, glockenspiels, tubano drums and a wide variety of rhythm instruments. SmartBoards, iPads Apple and Windows platforms are also used to teach students about music history, theory, and composition. The school seeks a team member who enjoys the community connection, working with teachers to build on music knowledge outside the classroom and collaborating on school-wide multi-disciplinary projects.

Requirements: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Music or Music-related field. One year of experience working with children required; 2-3 years working with children preferred.
